Massages

Swedish Massage refers to various techniques designed to relax muscles by applying pressure against deeper muscles and bones and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. It involves kneading, stroking, friction, tapping, and vibration and may relieve stiffness, numbness, pain, constipation, and other health problems.

The primary purpose of Swedish Massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Other possible benefits include stimulation of circulation. It is particularly loved by people who enjoy a deeper massage that is also profoundly relaxing.

This massage is focused on pain relief work. A favourite amongst athletes, deep tissue massage helps release resistant knots to create a better range of motion for joints and muscles.

It focuses on damaged tissue and knots with deep, precise massage techniques. It uses appropriate pressure to promote the healing of scar tissue and relieve the pain of soft tissue injuries, chronic conditions, stress and tension.

As it sounds, this type of massage targets the inner layers of your muscles. Elbows and forearms may apply increased pressure during a deep tissue massage. This may be necessary to assist with muscle and tendon injuries, pain, and stiffness in your major muscle groups and joints. (Vs. Swedish massage focuses on relaxation, targets the superficial layers of muscle and focuses on the parts of your body that tend to hold the most tension, such as your neck, shoulders, and back). Expect you to feel sore for one to two days after the deep tissue session.

Herbal Stems consist of various herbs wrapped in cotton. The Herbal Stems are steamed and used directly on the skin, while a combination of Swedish massage techniques and Thai Massage are used. This type of massage may be especially beneficial for people suffering from adrenal burnout, anxiety and tension, joint pain and stiffness. This type of massage promotes circulation, boosts the immune system, and assists with the restoration of emotional balance.

Hot stone therapy relieves muscle aches and pain, helps anxiety fade away and aids your mind to relax at the deepest level. Basalt stones are sanitized in hot water, cooled to a comfortable temperature and placed along the spine to help melt away tension. While these layout stones deliver concentrated centers of heat, the therapist massages the client with oiled, heated stones along the muscles of the legs, arms, and torso areas. The heat from the stones relaxes muscles and increases the blood flow to the area being worked on, which allows for reaching deeper tissues effortlessly.

Body Scrubs and Wraps

Our Salt Glow treatment uses natural ingredients to gently massage and exfoliate the skin over most of your body. This will remove any accumulated dead skin cells and toxins on the surface and promote further detoxification as circulation increases.

When you shower off, your skin will tingle and feel silky smooth. Besides leaving you feeling just plain wonderful, Salt Glow will enhance the results you achieve from your cleanse.

Very similar to Salt Glow, except Sugar is used instead of salt. This treatment is best suited for sensitive skin.

Caffeine is a vasodilator which relaxes blood vessels in the skin. This action makes blood vessels more supple and firmer very quickly, which is reflected in your skin texture.

Due to this effect, this treatment may be very beneficial for those who combat varicose or spider veins, as well as reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Herbal poultices and body wraps have just as long a history of use as seaweeds. Herbal wraps have been used for treating wounds, bruises, sore muscles, sprains, and various skin conditions for centuries, as well as for detoxification and beauty treatments.

As you relax in the warmth of thermal blankets, your skin will be soothed and nourished, muscles will be eased, and toxins will be drawn from your body: an all-over enhancement to your cleansing experience. After showering, you will receive a Swedish massage to help enhance the cleansing and healing.

Reflexology is a focused pressure technique directed at the feet, hands and ears. It is based on the principle that there are reflexes on hands and feet which correspond to all parts, glands and organs of the body. By stimulating more than 7,000 nerves in the feet, reflexology encourages the opening and clearing neural pathways.

Reflexology interrupts pain pathways, reducing pain. It improves immune function by stimulating the lymphatic system. It cleanses the body of toxins, removes swelling in the feet, ankles and legs, and produces endorphins. One feels an elevated mood and increased energy after the session.

Reflexology is a tremendously relaxing holistic treatment that can help improve circulation, soothe tired feet, and encourage the body to work naturally to restore balance.

Electro Dermal Screening Test (EDST) is an electro-acupuncture diagnostic method that determines specific food sensitivities, candida presence, and imbalance in the central body systems. This method was invented in the 1950s by the German Doctor Reinhold Voll, whose name is given to another title of this treatment modality, EAV or Electro Acupuncture, According to Voll.

Dr. Voll discovered that when an internal organ’s function or structure changes, the related meridian and acupuncture points’ performance also changes, and this change could be measured using the device. Much like measuring the flow of a river. If the flow is swift, it may indicate that the corresponding organ or system is in a state of inflammation. A sluggish reading would indicate a deficiency or fatigue in the organ or system.

Please note: Fresh Start may not be able to accommodate food sensitivities discovered during your test. This information is for you to use daily when you get home. We WILL accommodate severe known allergies indicated before arrival on your health forms.

At this moment, we are not able to provide a high level of instant customization of drinks. Please do not give our chef or other staff a report with your findings. I appreciate your understanding.

STRUCTURAL (MUSCULAR-SKELETAL FUNCTION) SERVICES

This unique technique helps lymph circulation and neuromuscular balancing and can quickly alleviate common complaints such as:

  • Sciatica and arthritis
  • Lumbar to neck pain
  • Sports injuries, tendinitis
  • digestive complaints
  • asthma and allergies
  • frozen shoulders
  • hip and knee pain
  • skeletal issues
  • jaw problems
  • fibromyalgia

In its essence, Bowen therapy resets the body to heal itself. Everyone can benefit from this technique, from newborns to the elderly.
The Bowen Technique consists of several gentle movements over a client’s muscles, bones and connective tissues at the precise location without sliding on the skin, first in their natural direction and then in the opposite direction. This stimulates the nervous system at the exact points requiring attention and makes the surrounding fascia more fluid. As a result, blood and lymph circulation at the site of injury increases, and healing accelerates.

This stimulates the nervous system at the exact points requiring attention and makes the surrounding fascia more fluid. As a result, blood and lymph circulation at the site of injury increases, and healing accelerates.

Bowen, the author of the technique, compared it with guitar tuning since the harmonious vibrations created by this technique rebalance the body and can release blocked emotional energy.

Structural Massage, typically performed by Registered Massage Therapist (RMT),  may include various techniques such as Trigger Point and Myofascial Release, as well as Deep Tissue. Its purpose is to release muscle tension and “work through” different trouble spots.

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Fascia is a specialized body system similar to a spider’s web or a sweater. Fasciae are similar to ligaments and tendons, as collagen is their major component. They differ in their location and function: ligaments join one bone to another bone, tendons join muscle to bone, and fasciae surround muscles or other structures. Fasciae attach, stabilize, enclose, and different muscles and internal organs. Fascia is classified by layer: superficial fasciadeep fascia (surrounds individual or bundles of muscles), and visceral (surrounding internal organs) fascia.

Fascia is densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein, and all of our internal organs, including the heart, lungs, brain and spinal cord. The most exciting aspect of the fascial system is that it is not just a system of separate coverings. It is one continuous structure that exists from head to toe without interruption. In this way, you can see that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia, like the yarn in a sweater.

Fascia plays a vital role in the support and function of our bodies since it surrounds and attaches to all structures. In the normal healthy state, the fascia is relaxed and wavy in configuration. It can stretch and move without restriction. However, when one experiences physical trauma, emotional trauma, scarring, or inflammation, the fascia loses its pliability. It becomes tight, restricted, and a source of tension to the rest of the body. Trauma, such as a fall, car accident, whiplash, surgery or just habitual poor posture and repetitive stress injuries, has cumulative effects on the body. The changes trauma causes in the fascial system influence the comfort and function of our body. Fascial restrictions can exert excessive pressure causing all kinds of symptoms producing pain, headaches or limitation of motion. Fascial restrictions affect our flexibility and stability and determine our ability to withstand stress and perform daily activities.

Trauma, inflammatory responses, and surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain-sensitive structures that do not appear in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.)

Each Myofascial Release Treatment session is performed directly on the skin without oil. This enables the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate the release of the fascia.

Thai Yoga Massage is a form of bodywork that combines dynamic assisted stretching influenced by Yoga and physical pressure along energy lines influenced by Chinese acupuncture and Ayurveda. This type of massage is usually performed on a mat on the floor, though sometimes it (or some parts of it) can be done on a massage table. The Thai Yoga massage is beneficial for releasing muscle tension and improving flexibility and mobility.

COUNSELLING AND LIFE COACHING

Counselling may be helpful to anyone who is dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, post-divorce recovery, childhood trauma, a significant life change or other challenging emotional challenges. It is for the person who needs to be heard and supported and to heal their heart.

While counselling helps you work with the painful past, Life Coaching may help provide guidance and support in various life areas, including goal-setting for future plans.

Counsellors and Life Coaches offer  Stop Smoking Sessions (content will vary depending on each specialist’s expertise).

If you are ready to make this big step in your life and to part with your “nicotine buddy” for good (whether you are planning to quit here or before), these in-depth coaching sessions may be able to help you go through the grieving process and to address the void that you may feel in your heart and social surroundings, as well as some fears you may be dealing with after quitting.

Important Tips:

We hope you have already decided to leave cigarettes at home, maybe even to quit several days or weeks prior, or to smoke the last cigarette before leaving the airport. Such scenarios would be best, and not only because this may alleviate your physical detox symptoms. We have found that this is what most guests who come to us do and suggest others do. This helps one commit 100% to the goal and successfully overcome the habit. It is easy to think: “I’ll do it tomorrow.”

The truth is: “There is no tomorrow.” Tomorrow is the result of the decisions and choices we made yesterday. Tomorrow is just a myth that does not exist. If you decide inside yourself that it is your time, nothing, absolutely nothing, will be able to stop you. And if you ask yourself a question: “Am I ready? Is this the right time for me to do it? – You’ll know the answer instantly.

Note: It is fine if you are not ready to quit and come to us with different goals. However, it is best if you know about it before coming to avoid disappointment and to be able to accept it. We’ll support you in that decision… Yet, if quitting smoking is your goal now, please make a solid plan on how and when. It is so important! If you prefer to take the last cigarette at the time of your retreat with us, Theresa will help you develop the “quitting plan.” Just let her and we know in advance that this is the help you would like to receive.

What is included in your Stop Smoking Coaching Sessions?

The description of the sessions below is just a sample to share with you what Quit Smoking coaching can do for you. Your session will be unique to you and customized to your needs and situation. There are no cookie-cutter approaches that work for everyone.

Session 1

  • We would review your smoking history. Get you to look deeper into the reasons you started smoking. Everyone who smokes has their reasons for smoking. It may be a result of habit or addiction or both. You may like how it makes you look or feel. Or, maybe it helps you relax, boosts your energy, gives you time to yourself, or enables you to control your weight. Smoking could also be something that you share with others. I will tailor the tools necessary to suit you and your needs best.
  • We will make a date to quit if you haven’t already done that. Before that date, start noticing every time you go to have a cigarette. Ask yourself whether I can go without this one. Can I put it off a little longer? Start replacing the craving and the behaviour with positive behaviour and distractions, like a glass of water.

Following Sessions

  • We will assess where you are in your process. Look to see if hidden subconscious beliefs need to be addressed. In almost all cases, there are underlying emotional issues behind the smoking habit. The sessions will be individualized to your individual emotional wellness-related needs.
  • Learning to recognize your smoking triggers is an essential part of quitting. When do you feel the urge to smoke? Common triggers include: drinking coffee or alcohol, relaxing after work or after a meal, walking, on the phone or when driving, and feeling stressed or angry.
  • Look at how you can break the association between smoking and your routines.

Last Session

  • The third session will follow up on how you are doing and where you still need help with post-program integration. Together we will assess and provide tools and a plan to help you continue your journey of being a non-smoker.

Disclaimer: Please remember that the most significant part of success is your firm decision to be free from a habit, your readiness to let go of your old friend, whose friendship is toxic to your health and life. Is this pain big enough to let go? Are you ready to let it go? Are you willing to let it go now? Remember that nothing is more powerful and effective than the human desire to change. We are here to support and encourage you. The same goes for all emotional health work you do with us.

ENERGY BALANCING TREATMENTS

Aromatherapy is used in a combination with a light massage with the use of organic essential oils. This therapy may be especially beneficial for people with nervous, hormonal systems and sleep disorders. It deeply nourishes your body’s energetics. While aromatherapy is a type of massage, the main focus here is oil application and its effect on your various energetic bodies and chakras.

Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy is a form of bodywork that works with the central nervous system, particularly with cerebral fluid and gentle manipulation of bones in the skull and spine. On the outside, it is experienced as energy work with long holds at specific points throughout the body (head, spine and other areas). Though the effect of the therapy is profound, during the session, it may feel as if nothing happens, and it is done mostly in silence. The end result is usually a feeling of calmness, deep relaxation, increased energy and groundedness.

Craniosacral Therapy helps by supporting the systems and organs in your body most affected by trauma and stress. This therapy can bring your nervous system out of the sympathetic fight-flight or freeze response into a healthy parasympathetic state, which is imperative to healing. It may be especially beneficial for sleep issues, chronic fatigue and anxiety, as well as for TMJ, traumatic brain/spinal injuries and headaches. It may help to relieve or eliminate various conditions related to restrictions in the spine and skull.

Somatic Body Therapy, originated by Peter Levine, focuses on assisting with the release of emotional trauma and trauma memories stored in our body, as well as working with our nervous system. “Somato” refers to all of the body’s soft tissues, including muscles, connective tissues and organs. The therapy applies several physical and energy techniques for healing. Your session may include awareness of bodily sensations, energy, breathing techniques, physical exercise, voice work, movement and healing touch. Standard methods include titration (moving to a resource or place of safety) and pendulated (moving between homeostasis and a state where physical symptoms are present) processes. Somatic therapy may benefit people with depression, panic attacks, anxiety, stuck emotions, persistent negative thought patterns and emotional hypersensitivity.

Reiki may assist with decreasing fatigue, stress and anxiety by allowing healing energy to flow freely throughout the body, which typically results in relaxation and reduced pain and tension.

Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century, according to the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing.

It’s based on the idea that we all have an unseen “life force energy” that flows through our bodies, according to the International Center for Reiki Training. A Reiki practitioner gently moves her hands just above or on the client’s clothed body to reduce stress and promote healing by encouraging a healthy flow of energy.

Each practitioner has a unique set of skills and may additionally use other energy techniques. Due to this, each Reiki session is a unique experience.

TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE TREATMENTS

Acupressure is a body treatment that accesses and releases blocked or congested energy centers in the body located along energy pathways called Meridians. The same pathways are used in Acupuncture. When these centers are blocked, a person may experience a lot of physical and emotional discomfort and pain.
Acupressure helps release physical and emotional tension, promoting a profound depth of relaxation through gentle, firm finger pressure on specific points and body-focusing techniques.

Acupressure is accomplished with the client lying (supine) on the back, and the therapist slides her hands underneath the client to push up and into the points within each client’s comfort level, allowing a general release of the tension in the muscles, as well as in mind, and increased energy flow. Specific points are held for 1 minute – 3 minutes. Long-held emotions may also surface and dissipate. Sessions are stored in a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment.

*For your acupressure session, please wear soft, comfortable clothing (no belts preferred).

People with the following health conditions and symptoms have effectively used acupressure:

  • Tension and fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Stress-related headaches and migraines
  • Poor blood circulation
  • Gastrointestinal problems
  • Back and shoulder pain
  • Eye strain
  • Sinus pain
  • Allergies
  • Hormonal imbalances, including PMS and menstrual problems
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Nerve and muscle disorders
  • Shoulder, neck, leg and lower back pain
  • Tennis elbow
  • Muscle spasms
  • Joint stiffness
  • Teeth grinding
  • Insomnia
  • Electrolyte Imbalances
  • Emotional trauma
  • Depression

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice that originated thousands of years ago. It is based on the premise that a blockage or disturbance in the flow of energy, or “qi,” is a common cause of health issues. Acupuncturists insert hair-thin needles to specific points throughout the body to restore the flow of qi, balance the body’s energy, stimulate healing, and promote relaxation.

According to TCM theory, there are over 1000 acupuncture points on the body, each lying on an invisible energy channel, or “meridian.” Each meridian is associated with a different organ system.

Conditions Acupuncture can help address:

  • Arthritis
  • Chronic pain (such as headaches, lower back pain, and neck pain)
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Migraines
  • Nausea
  • Sciatica
  • Sinus congestion
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Tinnitus
  • Weight loss

Some people use Acupuncture to promote fertility. It is also used to quit smoking and as a component of the treatment for other addictions.

Research on Acupuncture:

Low Back Pain

A 2013 systematic review of trials found that Acupuncture was more helpful for non-specific chronic low back pain than no treatment.

Tension Headaches

A 2016 review (involving 12 trials and 2349 participants) suggests that Acupuncture (involving at least six sessions) may help people with frequent tension headaches.

Migraines

A 2006 review of 22 trials (involving 4985 participants) found that adding Acupuncture to the treatment of migraines reduces the frequency of episodes and may be at least adequate as medication used to reduce the frequency of migraine episodes.

Knee Pain

An analysis of previously published studies found that Acupuncture improved physical function in the short and long term in people with chronic knee pain due to osteoarthritis. Still, it appeared to provide only short-term (up to 13 weeks) pain relief.

Treatment:

Typically, acupuncture will use six to 15 tiny needles per treatment (the number of needles doesn’t indicate the intensity of the treatment). You may feel a slight sting as the needle is inserted. The needles are often left in for 10 to 20 minutes. The acupuncturist may twist the needles for added effect. You should notify your acupuncturist immediately if you experience pain, numbness, or discomfort during the treatment.

Your acupuncturist may use additional techniques during your session including:

  • Moxibustion. Also known as “moxa,” moxibustion involves using heated sticks (made from dried herbs) held near the acupuncture needles to warm and stimulate the acupuncture points.
  • CuppingGlass cups are applied to the skin so that there is a suction effect. In TCM theory, cupping is used to relieve stagnation of qi and blood.
  • Herbs. Chinese herbs may be given in teas, pills, and capsules.
  • Electroacupuncture. An electrical device is connected to two to four acupuncture needles, providing a weak electrical current that stimulates the acupuncture needles during the treatment.
  • Laser acupuncture. Said to stimulate acupuncture points without the use of needles.

Ear acupuncture, also known as auricular Acupuncture, is sometimes used during the treatment for weight loss, smoking cessation, addictions, and anxiety.

Chi Nei Tsang is a non-invasive abdominal massage method that profoundly affects your nervous system. It uses the energy flow of all major systems in the body: digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, integumentary, lymphatic, nervous, fasciae tendon muscle, acupuncture meridian, etc. Chi Nei Tsang can help increase the energy flow into the internal organs through specific manipulations and massaging a series of points in the navel area. CNT frees the blockages in the abdomen and guides the healing energy through the entire body. It is the brain-gut connection experienced in its most tangible form.

Benefits of Chi Nei Tsang

  • Relief from tension and pain
  • Reduces abdominal pains
  • It helps aid in digestion and assimilation
  • Improves elimination
  • Breathe more fully and effortlessly
  • Releases physiological and emotional blocks
  • Detoxify and strengthen weak or damaged organs
  • PMS, cysts, and other female orders

How does it Work?

The Taoist sages of ancient China observed that humans often develop energy blockages in their internal organs that result in knots and tangles in their abdomens. These obstructions constrict the flow of Chi (energy). The negative emotions of fear, anger, anxiety, depression, and worry cause the most damage. Problems can also be caused by overwork, stress, accidents, surgery, drugs, toxins, poor food, and bad posture. If the negative emotions can’t find an outlet, they fester in the organs or move into the abdomen, the body’s garbage dump. The abdomen is the center of the body’s vital functions. It can process some emotional garbage but often can’t keep up with the flow. The body’s energetic center at the navel becomes congested and cut off from the rest. But working on the abdomen, a practitioner assists the body in removing the energy blockages.

This therapy has many uses and benefits, including improving blood flow to affected organs and tissues, enhancing detoxification, relieving constipation and painful menstruation and even facial rejuvenation. There are two types of cupping Fire Cupping (done with glass jars) and Contemporary Cupping (done with special silicone cups). This therapy is impressive and can be done in so many ways. The only thing to be aware of is that you may have some temporary “marks” on the skin for a few days to a week after. The “marks” form when there is poor circulation to the organ because of toxic debris blocking oxygen. The cupping helps to improve that issue. The darker the “circles,” the more toxins are in the area.

One of Tui Na’s advantages over simple massage is its ability to focus on specific problems, especially chronic pain associated with the muscles, joints, and skeletal system. It’s especially effective for joint pain (such as arthritis), sciatica, muscle spasms, and back, neck, and shoulder pain. It also helps chronic conditions such as insomnia, constipation, headaches (including migraines), and stress-related tension.

Tui Na does not simply work on the muscles, bones, and joints. It works with the energy of the body at a deeper level. As the practitioner senses the client’s body with her hands, she can assess power distribution and affect its flow.

Tui Na is a form of Asian bodywork that uses many techniques that are used in a massage. It includes gliding (known as effleurage or Tui), kneading (petrissage or Nie), percussion (tapotement or Da), friction, pulling, rotation, rocking, vibration, and shaking. Despite the similarities, the intent of Tui Na is more specifically therapeutic than the simple relaxation of a Swedish-style massage. The style of Tui Na practiced in China today is closer to the work of chiropractors, osteopaths, and physical therapists than that of massage therapists.

To those who’ve experienced both acupressure and Shiatsu, a Tui Na session may seem like a cross between the two. Like Shiatsu, Tui Na uses rhythmic compression along body energy channels and various techniques that manipulate and lubricate the joints. Like acupressure, Tui Na directly affects energy flow by holding and pressing the body at acupressure points.

PRIVATE NUTRITION AND EXERCISE COACHING

Learn to adapt poses for your body type, injury or illness. During your private lesson, the instructor will be able to see areas that need improvement and will include specific postures and breathing exercises tailored to your individual needs.

The benefits of learning yoga one on one are that you can progress further, learn more quickly, and move at your own pace. Use this experience to learn how to incorporate yoga at home and for personal growth.

If you would like training in a private setting, with a focus on either strength building or limited fitness ability due to past injuries, or if you need a more individualized approach, these sessions may benefit you.

Suppose you would like to spend more one-on-one time with our chef,  more hands-on experience, ideas on ingredients substitutions or how to incorporate new habits into your daily routine. In that case, this session will help you to get the additional support you need.

ADVANCED CLEANSING BODY TREATMENTS

Colonics (=Colon Hydrotherapy Sessions) are designed for cleansing the colon of mucoid plaque, parasites, Candida and other impurities, as well as helping to reshape and tone the colon muscles. During the procedure, temperature-controlled purified water is gently introduced into the colon through the rectum. Implants of electrolytes and organic chlorophyll, an electrolyte drink, and an abdominal massage are included. Colonics are usually followed by sensations of feeling lighter, clean and energized and sometimes by 1 to 3 lbs. less on the scale.

Colonics may significantly enhance the results of the detox program. Please ask for specific dates when they are available.

We use a specially prepared de-acidified organic coffee that assists the liver and gallbladder detox during a colonic session. It has become a standard procedure in helping people with cancer. According to Dr. Gerson’s case studies, such fast-killing cancers as pancreatic, lung, ovarian and childhood melanoma were reversed with the help of coffee enemas. Coffee contains enzymes called Palmitates that help the liver carry away the toxins in bile acid.

Palmitates in coffee increase the production of powerful free-radical-quenching enzymes Glutathione S-transferases (GST) by 700 times. These assist your liver in detoxifying your entire body more effectively. The caffeine in the coffee stimulates peristaltic activity and dilates the bile ducts allowing toxins to be flushed through the gastrointestinal tract.

Heart conditions and very high blood pressure. Also, when a more gentle colonic with chlorophyll is best, also if there is a significant inflammation of the GI tract or debilitation.

The infrared wave’s vibrations are similar to those of water. They, therefore, can penetrate deep tissue, 0.5-1.5 inches, knocking toxins loose from body fat cells and releasing them through sweating. This therapy can be effective for heavy metal or medication detoxification, arthritis, many skin conditions, weight loss, injuries, pain relief, and for promoting healing. It may also help reduce cellulite.

The treatment helps speed up the removal of toxins from the body and often helps our guests relieve pain caused by various causes. The therapy may benefit people with headaches, gout and muscle pain. It may need to be repeated every 2nd or 3rd day for best results. Please note the results differ depending on the cause of the condition. Remember that there is no such thing as a quick fix.

The treatment includes a 20-min herbal foot soak followed by a poultice.

Who Benefits:

Those exposed to industrial or other chemicals, pesticides, or whose system is loaded with heavy metals. Those who quit smoking.

There is a unique machine used in this treatment. We start by filling a tub with warm water. Salt is added to the warm water to improve conductivity. Then we place an array into the tub to produce a gentle electrical current.

Depending on our chosen settings, this direct current breaks the water into positively charged hydrogen ions and oxygen gas or negatively charged hydroxide ions and hydrogen gas.

When the machine is turned on, you might notice a slight tingling sensation in the feet. That’s because our bodies are made of water and electrolytes, allowing the current to travel through the body. This current causes the tingling sensation as it works as a catalyst to boost the body’s natural detoxifying abilities.

By the end of the session, the water changes colour. The oxidation of the metal plates causes the colour change in the array, and the ions react with solutes in the water.

The electrical current travels throughout the body and stimulates lasting detoxification effects.

Notes: This treatment can also be used for hands and has been found very helpful by some people with arthritis. If you do a 90-min treatment, you’ll start with lymph activation using Chi Machine and finish with a mini reflexology session.

This is a gentle form of manual therapy, NOT A MASSAGE. The touch is light to moderate. Lymph drainage is a particular technique that encourages the elimination of metabolic waste, excess fluid and bacteria through stimulation of the lymphatic system:

  • It shifts the buildup of extra fluid caused by injury, a bone fracture, breast cancer, prostate cancer, caesarian, vasectomy, any operation, a weak heart or physical inactivity.

  • It supports the immune system and makes elimination more efficient during cleansing. Lymphatic drainage massage is excellent for edema (swollen ankles and legs, puffy eyes) and other diseases related to venous insufficiency, promotes healing of scars and injuries and may be helpful for sinusitis, arthritis, acne, other skin conditions, and post-operative recovery.

  • Tip: It is best to exercise/go for a 10-15 min walk right after your massage, if possible. This will assist in the elimination of the released toxins.

LOCALIZED HYDROTHERAPY AND TOPICAL TREATMENTS

This ancient and oft-forgotten therapy is a very effective way to increase circulation in various parts of the body – enhancing healing, cleansing, as well as the ability of cells to restore energy transmission and absorb nutrients. Historically, it was used by people with various ailments: lung conditions, neuropathy and others. The therapy includes an alternation of hot and cold applications. It is not the same as the steam bath and has a very different effect on the body due to differences in application.

The purpose of this treatment is to improve circulation to the feet. It may be beneficial for neuropathy and arthritis, which are connected to poor circulation in the extremities. These treatments should be done 2-3 times weekly for optimum therapeutic effect.

Procedure: Feet or arms will be submerged in alternating hot and cold water (1-2 min hot and 30-60 sec cold). The 20-min procedure is followed by applying the soothing oils to the feet/ hands and a mini foot massage or reflexology.

This therapy may be super beneficial for people with sinus issues. It consists of an alternation of dipping your face into hot and cold water. Typically, we offer one session as a demonstration, after which we suggest you continue it in your room for min 5-10 treatments for optimum results.

This therapy assists those suffering from arthritis, Reynold’s and other hand/ feet conditions and works through the creation of sustained heat. A similar effect is reached when using paraffin baths but without petroleum, from which regular wax is made. The areas the treatment can be applied are the hands, feet, knees and elbows.

A sugar scrub is briefly applied to the treated area (only one can be done at a time), after which it is removed, and your hands or feet are dipped into the paraffin wax, then wrapped in a plastic liner and covered with warm mittens or boots. You stay in the “mitts” or “boots” for 15-20 min, after which the wax is removed. It is recommended that you put your feet into warm socks immediately (if this is foot treatment) to prevent cooling and prolong the effect of the treatment.

Note: If Knees or Elbows are treated, the therapist will use special strips to wrap around your joint.

The therapy has a lot of benefits, but we primarily use it for inflammation and renourishment in case of extreme physical or energetic exhaustion. Green Nourishment consists of applying freshly squeezed wild grass, wheatgrass or leafy greens juice into the entire body’s skin or specific areas of concern. Longer treatments also may include hot and cold fomentation packs.

The treatment may be especially effective for people who have advanced muscular-skeletal inflammation. It is not the same as drinking green juice orally. While bypassing the intestine and “competing” with multiple organs and cells, the nutrients are introduced directly to the area where it is needed and therefore produce a specific therapeutic effect required. This therapy works effectively but subtly. Min 5 treatments are needed to start experiencing its benefits.

LIGHT THERAPY

A unique laser device is placed on specific areas of the body, including the adrenals, thymus, vagus nerve and sacrum. Additionally, a few programs will be used to target problem areas. Relax, and feel your breath deepening as the laser helps bring your hormonal system and entire body to homeostasis. The laser treatment is integrated with various massage therapy modalities.

Laser light can be beneficial for insomnia, pain relief, stress reduction, and cravings related to smoking cessation, as well as being used to improve lymph circulation and enhance the immune system. According to published evidence, LT is equal to surgical and manual therapies for various pathologies, including neck pain, tendonitis, tendinosis (chronic tendonitis), and osteoarthritis. It is also used for nerve and other tissue regeneration, soft tissue injuries, scars, chronic pain, especially temporomandibular-related pain, and wound healing.

How laser light works: it donates photons to the cells. It stimulates the production of ATP (Essentially the energy of cells), necessary for the growth and regeneration of the cell, much like sun rays stimulate plants to produce energy for growing big and juicy fruit.

Laser Light also activates glands to produce hormones, acts positively on adrenals, and clears cellular memory from stress and tension in the body. Tension traps energy and prevents its free flow through the body, which leads to rapid aging and disease. Everybody knows about the connection between stress and stomach ulcers.

Tension and trapped energy can also adversely influence the liver, pancreas, and other organs. Releasing this tension will improve blood circulation and enhance the body’s healing abilities.

HALOTHERAPY AND TACHYON COCOON

This therapy must be done as a series of treatments, 2 to 3 times per week.

What is Halotherapy?

Halotherapy is a dry salt therapy in which your respiratory tract or skin is exposed to excellent salt particles. Halotherapy is created for an individual healing experience and is performed in a specially designed unit called Salt Cocoon, consisting of a therapeutic bed and a halogenerator.

While you lay and breathe normally in the Cocoon, the halogenerator granularly crushes pharmaceutical-grade salt into micro-particles and turns it into a salt aerosol that fills up the whole Cocoon through a ventilation system below your feet. The negative ions from the salt cleanse your body by pulling the toxins out, while the lungs and the skin absorb the minerals and the elements of the salt right into your body, balancing your pH levels. The lung and energetic detoxification effects are achieved through physical and energetic osmosis.

Pharmaceutical-grade salt, used in halotherapy, is anti-bacterial and clean, providing healing benefits without additives. The negative ions from the salt cleanse your body by pulling the toxins out, while the lungs and the skin absorb the minerals and the elements of the salt right into your body, balancing your pH levels. The effects are achieved through physical and energetic osmosis.

Halotherapy is Used for:

  • Lung & Skin Detoxification and Restoration
  • Deep Relaxation & Stress Reduction
  • Enhanced Psycho-Emotional Well Being

Health Benefits

Dry Salt/Halo Therapy assists with the healing of the respiratory system, inflammation, and skin problems. The scientific studies done in Europe, Russia and the United States have proven to improve the symptoms of:

  • Allergies
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Coughs & Colds
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Eczema
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Sinus & Ear Infection
  • Sleeping Problems
  • Smokers Cough
  • Snoring
  • Stress & Fatigue
  • Psoriasis

Procedure

While in the Salt Cocoon, close your eyes and breathe. Your head is slightly elevated to ensure proper elimination and drainage of toxins by the lymphatic system. If you wish, you may bring your favourite relaxation music (place it outside of the Cocoon or in your pocket to avoid salt deposits). You do not need to remove clothing unless you are working with a skin condition, in which case you need to be in a swimsuit.

What will I feel?

Because the salt particles are so small, you don’t feel them entering your lungs or being deposited onto your skin. You may, however, taste the salt on your lips and see salt powder on towels as the therapy progresses. Upon completing your treatment, you may also notice salt particles on your clothing. They are easily removed by being dusted off.

The therapy works subtly, so you may not immediately experience visible changes. But rest assured that it effectively purifies, disinfects and renourishes your lungs and skin, cleanses energetical bodies, and calms down the nervous system.

This Therapy Requires min 4-6 treatments.

When a person hears about Tachyon “Cocoon” for the first time, you may get skeptical, as we did. But after experiencing it on a trip to Europe, we saw how we could quickly adapt to a new time zone, how it calmed down our overrun nervous system, improved sleep, and took us into the most profound subconscious state of relaxation. We always “woke up” in 25 min without the clock, all rejuvenated.

Tachyonized products take 14 days to produce. They are not just traditional materials but those specially used for their ability to hold energy. They are intentionally programmed in a particular machine to bring rejuvenating “zero point field” energy into your body.

The Inventor

The man behind Tachyonization is a Californian engineer named Professor David Wagner. While at the peak of a very successful career, he had an accident which ruptured three disks in his back, and he was subsequently declared to be ‘crippled for life’ by eight specialists. After two years of constant unbearable pain, he had a dramatic insight into how to create a machine which could restructure materials on a sub-molecular level, transforming them into permanent Tachyon antennae.

He built the machine and used the first Tachyonized™ products to treat his back. Within six months, he was no longer a cripple and pain-free. News of this remarkable discovery spread, and today hundreds of his Tachyonized products are being used with tremendous results by thousands of people in 96 countries around the world.

Disclaimer: Due to the subtle energetic effect of this treatment, please expect that you may not feel its results instantly. If you do, this is a bonus, but if you don’t, it is normal.

LIQUID NUTRITION™ TREATMENTS

A must for vegans! It often tremendously increases energy. Consult with N.D. whether you have symptoms of this vital vitamin deficiency.

Benefits & Indications for Vitamin B12

  • Vitamin B12 is a crucial element for preserving balance in the human body. In combination with other B-group vitamins, vitamin B12 ensures the smooth functioning of vital life processes of the human body. It is essential for maintaining a healthy nervous system and DNA production. Vitamin B12 helps to regulate the formation of red blood cells in the body. B12 is vital to maintaining and increasing energy levels in the human body.

  • B12 is a crucial vitamin to hasten recovery if you suffer from bursitis. Talk with Dr. Maltais if you have this condition. People who have vegan and raw food diets often will have a deficiency and need to consider taking it. Also, people who suffer from reflux or heartburn are likely not absorbing B12.

  • Vitamin B12 helps to curb atherosclerosis and counter heart diseases and thrombosis. The synthesis of S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), a compound involved in immune function and mood, depends on the association of folate and vitamin B12.

  • Studies indicate that absorption of Vitamin B12 decreases with an increase in age. Hence, an increased vitamin B12 is beneficial for adults above fifty. The recommended intake form is via injection since older people absorb this form better than food forms of vitamin B12. B12 aids in cognitive function and heals neurological impairment within this group.

  • B12 could be obtained from animal food sources (dairy and meat). No reliable plant sources have been found to contain this vitamin in usable by humans form. Vitamin B12 can be taken as supplements sublingually (good) or via injections (best) and is highly beneficial in various forms.

  • Dr. Maltais uses Methyl cobalamin for Fresh Start clientele. Through this method, vitamin B12 can directly penetrate the bloodstream and yield numerous benefits. Methylcobalamin, the coenzyme form of vitamin B12, is the active form, which means that no metabolic steps are required for its ingestion, and it can be used in its standard form.

Important! The shots must be preordered a minimum of 1 week before the beginning of your program due to rare supplies. The service is paid additionally and is not included in your program cost. It is subject to the availability of a specialist.

Recommended Number of Treatments: 6 (within three weeks). The therapy consists of small superficial injections into the skin around the painful joint.

There are more than 150 studies on Mistletoe injection therapy. It’s proven that it helps about 80% of people with arthritis. Typically several weeks are required to give long-lasting benefits, but you can repeat the therapy every 4-6 months if needed. Mistletoe has been shown to provide sustained pain relief and improve mobility, even when compared with pharmaceutical medication.

European Mistletoe (Viscum album) is a unique plant that grows on fir, pine and deciduous trees. It grows in defiance of the laws of nature: it has berries in winter rather than summer and develops in globes rather than only towards the sun. It contains more than 1,000 substances, each contributing to its therapeutic effect. Mistletoe has been used for osteoarthritis since the 1920s.

Benefits of Mistletoe:

  • Decreases inflammation
  • Stimulates the local immune system
  • Improves collagen formation

All of this help to reduce pain and improve mobility.

After the Shot: you may have some redness or itching at the injection site. This positive reaction shows that you are activating the local immune system. This reaction will go away after a few days. There are no long-term side effects and no interactions with conventional medications.

This injection is used to numb pain. The shots must be pre-ordered before arrival and paid additionally (not part of the program).
